How To create multiple twitter account with single email account.

Hi,
Twitter allows you to create account which is directly mapped to your email ID. This makes the process difficult to create multiple twitter account with single email ID. After reading this blog post you will be able to create it.
Before that lets reveal 2 secrets of email addresses,
Fact-1
email address  is a string separated by symbol ‘@’.  the string before @ can be any character like ‘abcd’ or number ‘1234’. the character ‘.’ {dot} is ignored by SMTP server in the first part of email id.
i.e
firstname{dot}lastname{at}gmail{dot}com is same as firstnamelastname{at}gmail{dot}com

Fact-2
anything in the first part of the email address after ‘+’ is completely ignored by the SMTP servers.
i.e. firstname.lastname+anything{at}gmail.com is same as firstname.lastname{at}gmail{dot}com
cant believe this? try sending mails on these addresses and you will be surprised to see in your own inbox.
Creating Multiple Twitter Account
I guess now you got the idea!! while creating the twitter account you can use email ids like
firstname{dot}lastname+twitteraccount1{at}gmail.com
AND
firstname{dot}lastname+twitteraccount2{at}gmail.com

  1. I tried sending emails to kit01+{something}@web.de from my work account using Outlook but I always received errors:
    {mail.360communications.de #5.5.0 smtp;550 Protocol violation}
    Am I missing something?

Your work account may be using some Mail-Server, which is may not be supporting this kind of address.
    Microsoft Exchange Server supports this.
This is well supported by Gmail and it will work fine.

Any Idea which Mail-Server you using?

Firstly thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately I don't know what mail server we're using. It's my first week on the new job ;-)

I will just entering a modified email directly in my second Twitter profile and see what happens.

  4. So, in order to post, you have to log out and sign back in? I'm trying to have one twitter account for business and one for pleasure. For example, Gmail, I can attach to email addresses and pick from a drop down which address I want to send from.
